Grief Support & Resources
Grief is a deeply personal journey. There's no right or wrong way to grieve, and everyone experiences it differently. Here are some resources to help you through.
Understanding the Grief Journey
While everyone grieves differently, many people experience similar stages. These stages aren't linear – you may move back and forth between them, and that's completely normal.
Denial
Feeling numb or in disbelief. This is a natural defence mechanism that helps us survive the initial shock.
Anger
Frustration and irritability may surface. It's normal to feel angry at the situation, yourself, or even your loved one.
Bargaining
Dwelling on 'what if' or 'if only' statements. We may try to negotiate our way out of the hurt.
Depression
Deep sadness as the reality of loss sets in. This is not a sign of mental illness, but an appropriate response to loss.
Acceptance
Learning to live with the reality of loss. This doesn't mean being 'okay' with it, but acknowledging it.
Healthy Ways to Cope
Be Patient
Allow yourself to feel whatever you're feeling. There's no timeline for grief.
Seek Support
Lean on friends, family, or professional support. You don't have to grieve alone.
Talk About It
Share memories and feelings. Talking about your loved one keeps their memory alive.
